One of the biggest roles as a photographer is to get your clients to be relaxed, have fun, and enjoy themselves during their session. Sometimes we only have a little bit of time to get kids to open up to us and be natural!
This week, I got the chance to photograph the Narvaes family up on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder. We had perfect weather and everyone was dressed so nicely that I really thought nothing could go wrong, right? Well, the oldest child, Francesca (almost 5), got scared of some aphids crawling around her feet and wasn’t too happy about her photos being taken, either, so needless to say, right from the get go, I knew my work was cut out for me. All this to say, I am so thankful for all the photo experiences that I’ve had with kids (including mine) and in the end, everything turned out great and the photos captured the family exactly as they were!
Sometimes only mommies can make us feel better when we get scared! And here are some more great family shots from the session.
